Default Westwood / Los Angeles - Stolen 993

Sadly, my 1996 993 was stolen on Friday, from in front of my house in Westwood. Black, with black interior, loud B&B exhaust. License 5NAE515. Thanks.

Horrible. Beautiful looking car too (for the record, I've had my blk/blk 97 for 6 years.....looks almost identical).

Hopefully the car is either recovered VERY quickly or it's never seen again and your insurance company values it fairly. Again, sorry to hear.

Appreciate it Tim. Detective friend guessing already in shipping container, but thought I'd get the pic out there.

I'd have to agree unfortunately. Horrid feeling when something is stolen.

Im sorry to hear about your theft, thats terrible. How do people make off with the 993s from in front of peoples houses so well?

Do you know if yours was stolen with a flatbed? I park mine in front of my house also and the last few theft stories make me worry more and more.

Good luck.

The guess was no flatbed due to the noise of the truck, unless they roll it down the street which is possible. Word is they can get in and get it started in under 3 minutes.

Sorry to hear that. Post up some more details pics of parts etc. There was a Craigslist ad in San Fran yesterday that had your same exhaust for sale(it's gone now). Look further down for user Spyderman thread on "id this exhaust"/ I'm sure probably just a coincidence, but the more parts/pics you post someone might see something if it's getting parted. (can't use the c-word) and there are a lot of RL-ers in CA who might see something pop up on their local CL.

Friend of mine just had his brand new SL stolen outside his work. Turns out it was part of a car jack ring in Newark,NJ that they just busted 150+ high end cars on their way to Africa.

Wow. Terrible news.

How do they hotwire a 993 so quickly? Is the factory "driveblock" that easy to bypass?

I think they just drag it onto a flatbed and drive away.
Worry about the immobilized later.

This is terrible!! I hope that your car is recovered soon but just in case you might send VIN information to Interpol as well state and local law enforcement.

crazy! So bold in front of the house.
It is a wonder how they manage to do it unseen or unheard.

Why would somebody risk stealing a 993 anyhow? for joyride? parts? other?

There's another thread about a 996 Turbo being stolen from LA Fitness (3/16/2014).
