Speed Yellow Sport Seats, classic grey inserts
How common are Speed Yellow sport seats with classic grey inserts on a C2S. Made for Porsche by Recarro and with Porsche crest embossed. Has anyone every seen them before.
I had tried to get this information from Porsche and I have had zero success. I believe I was told something to the effect that they do not release that information.
Also the backs of the seat inserts have notes on them in German, I took photo of one. Could someone translate. thank you

Ron - are your seats powered, or fully manual? The 993rs came with a 'comfort' option of manual hardback sport seats if the standard fixed back Recaro's were not desired. Same for the GT2 & I believe this option typically came with the gray inserts. The painted hardback shells would have either been done by the factory as a requested option, or by a previous owner.

Ron, you could order painted hardbacks on sport seats and interiors with two-tone leather through Exclusive with the seats having the center cushion in a color different than the outer bolsters for both standard and sport seats. Many times, those kinds of options aren't broken down on the option sticker but grouped together under a 'collector' number like 009991 or some such and the actual list of individual modifications is in the Porsche archives for your vin. The only way to see that list is to make an appointment with the Archive in Stuttgart (above the new Museum) and go and research it.

I was just trying to find out how common they were, i.e. how many car were made with that option. For instance speed yellow was not a color offered in 1997, you can get it but it's an option so you have to pay extra.
I know what the car has since I have all records since new. I just wanted to know how unique this option was based on the number of cars so equipped.

I would say in the five+ years I've been paying attention, I've seen less than a handfull of two tone factory seats and maybe 8-10 cars with factory painted hardbacks. Out of those, I can only remember one with both options .. a Crescent White (pearl) '96 Turbo with black/frost white leather center's in the seats that were painted body color from the factory.

I would seriously doubt you would EVER come across another car that was factory equipped with Speed Yellow painted hardback sport seats, crested headrests, and grey inserts with power height adjustment.

I've been searching for a speed yellow C2S - love the color matched seats! On the off chance you run in a pack of 993's, please let me know should you hear of one ever coming up for sale. Thanks!
