Default Boxster II Wheels on 993NB

1995 993 NB

I currently have 17 inch Cup 2 wheels. Driving in NYC these days the lower profile tires take a beating. I'm looking for a cheap second set of rims.

My current size is
Front: 7JX17, offset: 55. Tire size: 205/55ZR17. Part Number: 993 362 124 00

Rear: 9JX17, offset: 55. Tire size: 235/50ZR17. Part Number: 993 362 128 00

I want to add another set of rims in the 17 inch range. I came across a cheap set of 17 inch rims nearby on CL They are Boxster II found on 987 and Cayman

Fronts
Bolt Pattern: 5x130mm
Make: PORSCHE
Model: BOXSTER,CAYMAN
Note: Porsche calls this wheel Boxster II.
OEM Part Number: 98736212205
Offset: 55mm
Option: 393
Part Number: 67333
Size: 17x6.5

Rears
Bolt Pattern: 5x130mm
Make: PORSCHE
Model: BOXSTER
Note: 17x8" rear Boxster II wheel.
OEM Part Number: 98736212600
Offset: 40mm
Option: I393
Part Number: 67335
Size: 17x8

Using the 1010tires.com calculator I see that for the fronts the inner clearance is 6mm more and outer is smaller by 6mm

For the rears there would be 28mm more clearence inside and the outside would extend 2mm

Based on these calculations it appears these wheels will fit without rubbing.
What do you think should I pull the trigger?

If you are referring to the MY02 996 wheels, then yes; probably the popular OEM, period incorrect wheel to be used.

they were also available for a boxster anniversary edition in size 7,5Jx18 ET50 and 9Jx18 ET52. these are the ones to have for a 993 NB.

incorrect. The correct OEM width for OEM 18" rear wheels on a 993 is 10" with an offset of 65mm.

Unclear what OP's objective is for putting wheels/tires with widths designed for a Boxster on his 993. I would avoid that.

what is the purpose then of the 18 inch turbo wheel 9J ET52 with partnr 993.362.138.01 ?
fitted with 265 35 18 tyres, these will definitely go without any problems, whatever your alignment setup and ride hight.
