Some dozy person hit my front bumper.
Now I have 3 inches by 3 inches of shatter marks shaped in a V on the middle top of the bumper.

Doesnt look like theres any other damage.

Can this be repaired/repainted or does the bumper have to be replaced.

Authorised Porsche bodyshop recommend replacement as the plastic has gone soft now in that area. So after repainting, shatter marks could appear if the bumper gets touched again, even by a shopping trolley. Is that OTT.

A friend shattered the lower part of his TT front bumper on a curb. It was able to be perfectly repaired (& reinforced), but he was told it will remain more vulnerable to future substantial impact damage. If stressed, it will likely break, rather than flex, at the point of the past breaks.

A good auto body repair shop can repair the bumper cover, on the car and you'll never know the work was done. It is done all the time and the body shops have the kits to do a professional job. What are the chances of the bumper being hit in the same spot again?

It depends on how bad the damage is. If it's merely a crack, a good body shop can repair it perfectly. However, if the bumper has warped because of the impact, then a replacement is normally recommended.
