Default Factory Sport Seats - available from Carnewal

At a cost of over $20K US!!! Almost makes the $9k+ prices that LA Dismantler wants for them somewhat reasonable (not!). Seriously...what makes this a $20,000+ pair of seats?

http://www.carnewal.com/products/P93...ry-Sport-Seats

Riddle me this...if my 993 is stolen, and it's recovered, albeit missing my sport seats...is this a viable option for my insurance company to source replacement seats? Meaning - can I point them in the direction of Carnewal and sit back and wait for new seats to arrive?

After seeing the cost for the new seats, the insurance company may simply total loss the car.

I'll happily sell mine for a 50% price reduction to Carnewals price (classic grey, no heaters)

Can Gert chime in with an explanation for the price? Price hikes for nisch items have a habit of leaking throughout the spares range, enthusiasts suffer and so do our precious cars.

Took notice of the carnewal.com website seat pricing as well, make that stupid seat pricing. Go figure.

Back in the day, 993 production options 373 & 374 (heated sport seats) had a cost of $315 each or so. . . . . . . . . Correction $365.00 USD each.

I don't think it's Carnewal's pricing...but rather Porsche's pricing. Apparently, one can walk into their local Porsche store and place an order for these seats at approximately $14K each.

The Carnewal site is the only place I've actually seen the seats available outside of a Porsche dealer that you can order them - hence my post.

These are Genuine Porsche, Porsche retail is about $10,000 a piece, you wont get them cheaper, Gert is not overcharging if he wants $20,000 a pair. bet he sells loads...............

You could probably build these out of parts for cheaper... If these are so hot I wonder why no one has come up with a OEM quality conversion for regular seats. Half of the ones people are buying for $4-$5k need to be recovered anyway.
