Default Charge-o-mat pro question

I just bought the latest model, since my old one stopped working. Funny thing is I plugged it in as usual, selected the correct mode, but none of the battery state lamps lit up. Do not know if it is functioning properly. The old model was simpler: you just plugged it in and selected car battery and you had two lights: loading and loaded. The newer model has different levels of loading. These do not light up at all. Any ideas? Also, after some time the power indicator blinks. thanks

There is a size difference between the older lighter sockets and the new ones. The new ones are smaller. Search around RL a bit and you might find the thread where a fix is described. The fix entails buying an accessory lighter socket and cutting it to make a sleeve which will take up the slop in the hole.

Slop in the hole is not a good thing -

Here is a picture of the adapter sleeve. I've done this and it works well. If your light blinks after a while it usually means you have no connection which is where the sleeve comes in.

The part number shown is for O'rileys here in the states.

Regards,

.

@cemoto This is a great hack! Thank you.

I was going ghetto style with electrical tape around the cig adapter so it would stay in. Would have to replace it every few times before it would stop working by getting chewed up as I switch between my google phone charger and v1...

Maybe the newest version of the cable adapter might do it?

Thanks but I cannot take credit for this, someone else did their homework, I just saved the photo. there is another thread on this somewhere.

Here is a shot of one of mine to show the cut size - make sure you file down any burrs after cutting.

Thing is I do not connect via the cigarette lighter. Use the cable connected to the battery.

I need to attach Porsche Charge-o-mat Pro to my 2023 911 battery, since using the 12v socket will not allow charger to work. Please tell me the sequence for connecting to and disconnecting from the battery terminals that works for you. Is it red and then black for connecting and black and then red for disconnecting, all of course done after the charger is unplugged, I presume. Also, do you leave the Charge-O-Mat adapter with the clamps connected and in the car all the time? Danke.
