Sort of. I think this was what ended up in a 956/962. Which would be a late development of a 935 engine, water cooled heads and all probably why they didn't need to utilize the monster horizontal fan. Never worked on anything that "modern", just fuzzy memory coming back.

My guess also ...3.2 962 turbo plenums plumbed to side intercoolers, motonic plug and electronic injector blocks, as well as 4 vaive water cooled heads pretty nice deal really... Bert

That's the engine type which helped Stefan Bellof 1983 in his 956c to hammer the now 30 years valid record for the fastest lap ever on the Nuerburgring into its asphalt.

They named just last weekend a curve at the NOS after him, the "Stefan Bellof S". At that curve he went airborne and trashed the car later in the race; there he came out unharmed ...
At the event (Oldtimer Grand Prix) his partner in crime Derek Bell had a round in the legendary chassis #007

Is the pipe between the two intake plenums for balancing the air flow? Is this single turbo setup, as that would explain it?

Type 935/82 was in general used in the 956, 961 as also in the 962. The 962 had to run it for IMSA races with only one turbo charger, whereas later it had also water cooled engines.
Commonly the types are known as 956, 956b or 962c whereas Porsche itself calls it the "956 C Coupe" (for Groupe C) on their own website
Juha, that one is clearly a bi-turbo...
it has your envisioned 600 ++ bhp
