Big Red Conversion Part List
Hello I am new here on Rennlist (From Taiwan) and I recently got my 993 C2S Guards Red in my car collection. Since the S model don't have the same brakes as the 4S and Turbo, I would like to do a conversion. As I looked into the threads, I didn't really see any thread saying what exact parts I need to do the conversion and where is the best site or place to get them.
Thanks!
I will post pics when i sort the attachment settings out! (seems like it always freeze my computer when I upload photos).
Thanks!

The big reds are heavier.
Have you tried different pads?
The standard brakes are pretty darn good.
Having said that, I believe either the front or back are bolt on, and the other requires a mounting adaptor.
I think you also need at least 18" wheels.
Rennsport's website has some info here: http://rennsportsystems.com/brakes/brake-upgrades-two/

For a C2S you only need rotors, pads, calipers. Porsche recommends the caliper bolts be replaced whenever the calipers are removed. The C2S came with 18 wheels but if you have 17s on it, as Kika suggested, they may not fit over the brakes. I found the prices from Sunset for new parts were about the same as people were asking for used and generally less than seen on eBay.

Bolt right on. Fit fine on 17" oem wheels.
I ordered Turbo front and RS rear calipers, oem rotors, and longer caliper bolts from Sunset at a terrific discount . Black caliper front pads fit the red rears, and I purchased turbo front pads from Edwin at raceshopper.com. I also had to replace the hard lines in the front as they were impossible to remove after years of DE heat soaking without cutting.

Thanks! I started to get interested because I think its a must have! as most of our club members did a conversion from their C2. As modern standards keep getting better and better, I think I should get the best out of my 993 can offer, big reds! I have not changed my pads since I got my 993, so I am not sure what brand previous owner used. Club members suggested Giro and Pagid.
As for bigger wheels, I am thinking of getting BBS LM-R, CH or E88, I am not sure which, suggestions?
Many thanks!! Saved me a lot of time as its just bolt on.

If you aren't in real need of the bigger brakes (ex. tracking the car), why not just paint the existing ones red? MUCH cheaper way to go. Yes, its a cheat, but who cares...

It seems to be a general misconception that larger brakes will reduce stopping distance. I don't think many people really understand the concept of brake fade.
I suggested diffent pads, and the fact that the standard 993 brakes are more than sufficient for any street driving.
Personally, I would suggest bigger brakes once I had exhausted the other options to reduce brake fade.
Not to mention bigger brakes will be heavier, and thus, a step down in performance in some regard.
