Default OT: Introduction for the 993 dog lovers :)

Here is our new little buddy Keeko. He is just 7.5 weeks old and came to live with us 3 days ago. I'm doing the night time crate training shift for the next few weeks, so I bought extra coffee and filters last weekend

Thanks guys! He is a Grey, Biscuit and White Siberian Husky. He should be about 55 - 60 lbs when fully grown. Both parents are pure-bred sled dogs and are beautiful with such friendly temperments. He has been really good so far, but we are cheating by using a crate and ex-pen to keep him out of trouble. The first night he was howling a little, but to be honest it sounded more like a Rooster than a Wolf.

The beginning of a long and wonderful journey. Dogs are TRULY man's best friend. My two Jack Russells are 13 and 9 years old. LOTS of work but the rewards are endless.

Enjoy!!!

I love Huskies, cute little guy. My daughter wants a Siberian for our next dog. Maui is our current dog, here she is with Mo and Marsh, our other pets.

I remember Maui's first nite with us, she cried over being penned in the kitchen. I felt so bad I had to bring her to the bedroom.

She has been a great companion for the last 11 years.

Thanks guys. Yes, that singing husky is a youtube celebrity! They are great dogs, but not for everyone. Maui looks like she would love everyone and everything...husky's love everyone, but not other little animals so much. They are great family dogs, but can be trying at times due to their independant nature. They can also be very distructive if not properly trained. Here is my last Husky - Onami - when he was about 10 weeks old. We had to finally put him down when he was 18 due to arthritis. He was the best!

Congratulations on your new Husky puppy! Dogs are great companions! This is my two year old Shetland Sheepdog and co-driver Cody. We've had two other Shelties that lived long lives.
