These wheels in the picture are mine made by Jim, the guy on the link lopro posted. He can help you to paint to that color but we got to the color by try and error. We did not have a ready color reference. He got it right because he had an original GT2 wheel that he could compare the colors.

Stahlgrau is correct and Jim did mine in that color as well. Looks awesome!

Ryan, you are wrong about the GT2 wheel color. Here is a part of Jim's email when we were discussing about the wheel color: " The color is a true GT2 color. It has a shade of green/gray - I have been painting things here Stahlgrau "steel gray" which is darker. But you can not call Speedline up and find this information out."

Guys I was just sent a link to this thread. Sorry I missed it last year and owe everyone a response. Years ago every thought GT2 color was Stahl Grau -- I am really not sure who started that thought, but it because a fact we all worked off. Ryan in Atlanta has the first set I painted after finally getting a paint code. It was tough. A few years later I actually bought a real GT2 rear wheel so I had a factory wheel here. When I got the GT2 wheel I immediately knew it was not Stahl Grau, but has more of a greenish hue to it. There us no name for this paint color as it took 4 tries of custom color matching and each one we thought was perfect until I sprayed a center and saw that it was not.
So since I am writing late for a response let me clear up a few other issues. Real GT2 wheels were made by Speedline and were cast magnesium. They have the standard depth for the center cap area, and most importantly the wheels are drilled with 30 holes so all the parts for these wheels are unique. These wheels are sized 9 & 11's but will not fit a normal TT/C2S/C4S without the addition of GT2 bolt on flares. jdorociak@gmail.com Jim |
Jim, mind clarifying which wheel is which in the attached picture? I assume the wheel on the right is the real GT2 wheel as it looks lighter grey and the one of the left is Stahl Grau (steel grey), but I cannot be certain.
|
Yes the wheel on the right is the GT2 wheel correct coloor and is 30 bolt, so that is a dead giveaway. This picture was taken before I disassembled that wheel and started the color match process. jdorociak@gmail.com Jim
