9m 993RS hollow anti-roll bars - Rennlist exclusive group buy offer

Hopefully most of you will already know that Ninemeister build 9m Cars to order including the 9m93 Speedster and 9m93RS. Very often, when putting these builds together we see engineering opportunities to improve the breed from where Porsche left them in 1998, in the case of the recent 9m93RS Clubsport build such an opportunity arose and I decided to act on it. My interest was in how we could reduce the weight of the car without compromising its integrity and without resorting to exotic materials or processes. One item that literally dropped onto my desk for attention were the RS anti-roll bars. As a result of this chance encounter Ninemeister have commissioned the manufacture of new hollow anti-roll bars for our 9m93RS range which are direct replacements for the 993RS adjustable bars, the major advantage being a 1kg saving per bar and a significant price saving compared to the factory parts. We think we have achieved that win-win objective.

The 9mRS antiroll bars will obviously fit all 2wd 993 models with suitable RS (or similar) drop links, special links may be required for the 4wd models. The bars are being made to OEM specifications with the same rate & black finish of the factory RS bars (as photo) and will be supplied with matching polyurethane bushes to suit the increased outer diameter. The group buy will be £595 for the first 15 sets total sold, if we get orders of 25 or more I will drop the price to £545 for everyone in the group buy, traders welcome and included in the offer. In comparison to the factory parts which now cost in excess of £750, so that's potentially a 27% saving in cost with a 2kg reduction in weight.

Please let me know if you are interested.

Great idea...

Unfortunately I just put RoW Turbo bars on my C2 earlier this year. I definitely would have gone this route if it was an option when I upgraded though.

I am interested. Need to ditch the TRG bars I'm currently running. They are too big and certainly are not hollow.

Nice work Colin, and the currency exchange rate is the best I've seen all year ...

What is the timeline on this project? What are shipping costs going to be to the US?

jdistefa 05-10-2013 12:43 PM

Way to go Colin, it's about time someone did this. I'm sure you'll have enough orders.

Thanks for support, we certainly think it's more than a good idea.

The lead time on the parts is around 8-10 weeks. Shipping logistics should not be too much of an issue, once orders are confirmed I will probably look for a west and east coast delivery address and distribute individually from there to keep transport costs to a minimum.

lighter and cheaper! when does that ever happen? wish I didn't already own a set of RS bars. great idea though.

These look like a great alternative to the factory parts

GeorgeK 05-12-2013 03:05 PM

Silly question: will these fit a 964 C4?

Ipe 05-12-2013 06:26 PM

Colin, I want a set.

Thanks

Ipe

The front probably would, the rear won't, although on the 964C4 you would have to use the C4 curved drop links for clearance around the front driveshaft. I will probably be looking at options for the 964RS bars next, so in the meantime why not try to find another 24 friends who also want a set - that will give me the incentive to work faster!
