Yep! Key word: little.
I am going to be making two models of CurveLover's red Speedster, using a UT Models 993 Carrera S as a base.
I have been hoarding UT parts.
This is not a service. I can recommend people that do this type of work.

Nice! You should have been in Hershey and it is funny looking at UT prices on eBay when I was buying them for $10 a piece. Also I vote for the 996 Turbo wheels that the car had on before the Fuch's

Thanks for all the comments!
Sorry, it's gonna have the Fuchs! However, I'm probably going to be using a set of 996 Twists for mock-up. BTW - do you want comfort seats in that white RS instead of the buckets? Genuine 993, power, 8-way I think,
Meh I'm just gonna put a few layers of duct tape on the inside. Just kidding..
Don't know yet. I have thought about it quite a bit though. An epoxy like JBWeld is a possibility.
Cut em! It's gonna be tough. I don't have any spare fenders to mess up! I would've started with a Turbo S body but they are too hard to find. The original models are rare (and very expensive), so spending a small fortune on one just for the bodywork to be cut off seemed unreasonable. I've seen a few resin molds of the Turbo S body, but they too are hard to find and also can warp.
I've changed my mind on what to do next. To get into the groove of soon swapping fenders, I'm now planning to convert the dog-leg doors to more accurately hinged doors as used in most 1:18 models now. Going to be very difficult.
Also, updates on this project might be slow, just so y'all know.
Take care,

Cut out some of what is behind the door to make provisions for the new, 'modern' hinge.
You can also see the original hinge arm from the door was removed.
At the moment I am thinking of using brass rod as the actual hinge.
Pretty rough, it wasn't really smoothed out or anything as it's not the final cut.
I am making it first on the purple coupe as a prototype. I did nick the rocker, which I'm going to be using. A tiny amount of putty should fix that. I nicked the front fender too, but don't plan on using that.

I'm sure the quality and detail of this speedster build will FAR exceed what I did here, but here's how I hinged the hood and deck-lid of my 87 Targa model. Cutting and hinging the doors never even crossed my mind - the customization and body shaping required just for this was quite enough for me. This took the better part of a year and was a reproduction of my fathers car, and a surprise birthday gift for him...
If you read this post dad, I love ya man & sorry I sold the 87....

What method and type of paint did you use?
Looks like a great gift. Nice job!
Thanks! Yea the waiting part might happen more than the watching part - sorry about that.
Take care,
