FS: FD Motorsports 300 Cell Sport Cats
I've decided to sell my ceramic coated 300 Cell (yes, you read that correctly) sport cats from FD Motorsports.
These are the sound readings for comparison:
Stock muffler/stock cat: Idle 66 db, @4500 rpm : 85 db*
Stage II w/stock cat : Idle 69.1 db, @4500 rpm : 95.4 db
Stage III w/stock cat.: Idle: 75.1 db, @4500 rpm : 99.1 db
Stage II w/300 cell sport cats: Idle73.6 db, 4500 rpm: 98.3 db
Stage II w/200 cell sport cats.: Idle: 76.5 db, @4500 rpm: 100.1 db
Stage III w/200 cell sport cats: Idle: 79.9 db, @4500 rpm: 101.4 db
These sport cats are superbly made, and with the coating, almost guaranteed to stay in beautiful shape for the life of the car. Drivability? Well, this is my seat of the pants talking, but I feel there is also a slight (postive) change in throttle response and pick-up. Probably as a result of the spent gasses being allowed to escape faster through the cat, and then through the mufflers.
Why am I selling? Well, for short drives it is just great, and I get many positive compliments, but for longer drives, the toll on my 38-year old ears is slightly too much (and make conversations with any passengers slightly more difficult. It can be done, but you just have to speak up a bit).
I paid $1650 (1000 miles ago), so I'm looking for $1050 shipped (or best reasonable offer).
