Default High Mileage NB C4 For Sale - eBay

Seems to be honestly described and priced accordingly. Good daily or track car. No affiliation. If it were a cab I'd be interested.

That's a nice deal. I wouldn't take $21500 for mine and I have almost 170k on the clock.

The black carpet is a big plus IMHO .. it would be good to check and see if that is on the options sticker ...

3 freon charges in 4 years = evaporator replacement. $2K expense.
Rust also?
Right rear and front left repair work.

Its a driver for sure.

But a Miata is not a Porsche!

Never implied a good track car, just said good daily or a track car. Honestly what do you really expect for around 20K?

OK then..........944 and variants. Face it, a 993 is an extremely poor choice of a track car until you've spent quite a bit of money.

Not much in a 993. But it isn't rare to see whatever bottom-of-the-bottom 911 that shows up described as a track car. Merely because the cosmetics might be bad?

So you take an ugly ~$20K car like this, and even DIY at my level you're $10-15K into getting it to where it's barely faster than my Spec Miata. $30-40K, and you've got about a snowball's chance when you're "on" that you'll stay ahead of a sleep-driven GT3.

We all don't need to go fast and keep up with GT3's!

A 993 is a thing if beauty. Just being in the track is FUN!

And BTW your average Honda mini van will smoke a 1949 Ferrari Barchetta 166 MM on the track... Get my drift?

I read "good track car" as meaning it would't hurt as much on the wallet when it gets stuffed into a wall rather than it will be faster than X.

Yeah, that's the way I understand the statement of "good track car".
Then on the other hand is the phrase " competitive track car" which is another thing all together.

How few cars sustain body damage at the track, versus total miles driven on track?

I've only been at this over 30 years, and 100% of the time at (fill in your price point) I'll take a car properly prepared over one that's a worn out street car. There's no pleasure in it if you're halfway competent; if you're a beginner it just makes it tougher to learn. That is, if you care to learn............
