on MY95 cars, if you can't get a good look at the back side of the caliper with an inspection mirror, you can easily feel the fitting type.
If it is about an inch long then it is the later version
If the fitting is almost flush with the caliper, it is the early (94-95) version

My car currently has the early 95 style rear lines, but I've installed rear calipers off a 96 (bought used and refinished/rebuilt). Which lines do I run or does it matter?

This is what you are looking/feeling for:
You want the early style.
The fitting on the inboard (body) side is the important one. The 1994 and early 1995 993s have a larger OD fitting.

Well, maybe not young but middle age
We wouldn't recommend replacing them at this point
On a side note, 50K miles in 4 years? Daily driver I guess. Awesome

Yup! Daily driver plus I made a lot of trips to and from the Bay Area for two years.
