As of last night, I think we are over the 10 mark. Should have no problem going 15+

If it is about an inch long then it is the later version
If the fitting is almost flush with the caliper, it is the early (94-95) version

Hope that helps!

Good to know, thanks Mark. I had visions of having to unbolt the existing brake line...

My car currently has the early 95 style rear lines, but I've installed rear calipers off a 96 (bought used and refinished/rebuilt). Which lines do I run or does it matter?

Thanks.

This is what you are looking/feeling for:

Great question

You want the early style.
The fitting on the inboard (body) side is the important one. The 1994 and early 1995 993s have a larger OD fitting.

When is it recommended to replace brake lines? I replaced mine about 4 years and at least 50k miles ago.

4 years or 50K miles is pretty young for brake lines... assuming normal use (not heavily tracked)
Well, maybe not young but middle age

We wouldn't recommend replacing them at this point

On a side note, 50K miles in 4 years? Daily driver I guess. Awesome

Yup! Daily driver plus I made a lot of trips to and from the Bay Area for two years.

Thanks for the deal, FDM. I'd be down for some but I just replaced mine last year.

Please count me in for a set of the red lines, '97 variety of course. Can you add this to my full list of 60K maint parts and "while I am in there" stuff. I would like this on my FDM Visa please, I need the points
