Proper British wrought iron handle, too! (#007...but of course!)

Not real smart.

Wood can crack and SPLIT. I know of one pro mechanic who was killed when wood was involved in the lifting of a car. The wood failed.

If its lignum vitae (aka iron wood) its probably stronger than the Esco stands!

P-daddy 02-01-2013 09:55 PM

I would at least lay it down, grain parallel with the floor.

Those Brits are just soooooooo advanced!

They've made some ships' engine bearings out of lignum vitae - I once knew a guy with a marine engineering business and he said you could turn that wood on a metal lathe and use milling machines on it.

Haha that's the only reason i know what lignum vitae, stern tube bearings were typically made out of it, those things last for the lifetime of the ship usually!
