The RUFs are FANTASTIC and keep em' - really strong, the overblown weight difference is negligible on the street, and THE best looking wheel period. Huge resell value shows the market supports this.

Cheers,

Mike

Hey, just offern' my opinion, given I have had MY02's, twists, turbo twists, RUFs, etc on my car.

I like simple 5 spoke designs, so yes my opinion is they THE best looking wheel on the 993.

The second best looking wheel in my opinion is the MY02's - classic elegant lines.

Opinions is what makes the world interesting, right?

YES. It's beyond negligible.

Give me a break Guy, any aluminum wheel would have broken if hit that hard sideways (given the car was totalled), your wheels included. Who knows, it may have been worse for our friend if the wheels did not absorb that much energy.

You want to also post all the pictures of other wheels with broken spokes that have been posted during NORMAL use? Have seen several on the list, for example the Fiske's, but no RUF's that I have seen.

Besides that, I really do not care if people consider them heavy, perhaps for a NA car it makes a difference, but in the Turbo, got the power

Lighten up Mike . To the contrary to " I really do not care " I would argue that you care a tad too much maybe . I never said that it was not a strong or heavy wheel .

I said I really do not care if people find them heavy - but I not like your implication that these wheels are not strong by posting a picture of a broken RUF wheel that had been hit very very hard. You and I both know the story behind that wheel. I was just countered your posting to balance the thread.

It does bring up an interesting question though - how do we really know which wheels are strong or not? I do know that I have driven over some major potholes and rough roads on the RUF's, and they are still straight. I also have managed to make a front MY02 out of round in similar circumstance. No experience with any of these wheels to the point of failure though (like your example above).

Cheers,

Mike

Default Nice car!

I like the first set, then the MY02's, then the second set pictured. Gorgeous car. I'm looking for a set of 18" 8" and 18" 10" 993 turbo twists for my NB 993. I'll look about on this site, but please let me know if you have any tips.
