I don't know how I missed that

I also like the simple rollbar mounts for the 3 point belts

The factory spot weld the tow-eye reinforcement plate to the front panel before welding the front panel into the tub. When you retro-fit the reinforcement you can spot weld the top effectively but not the bottom, hence Owen chose to seam weld the plate to ensure a full strength join.

Shot a few photos today of Owen and Neil doing the final preparation of the boot aperture and interior areas in time for first paint tomorrow.

Detail shots of the aluminium filler used to block the rust pits in the corners of the windscreen aperture; the PU sealant bead on the front wing to inner wing joint which will be painted over when we paint the front compartment.

Hi Colin,

What are the two tubes, visible in the 7th photo of post #104, extending beyond the tunnel?
Thanks.

E-Brake cables if I'm not mistaken.

Nollie is correct, they are the integral steel guide tubes for the two handbrake cables.

Did you guys reinforce the shock towers in any way besides additional welding of the seams?

Big day in 9m Panelcraft today. First job was to clear out the booth and prepare the shell for painting.

Almost forgot about this detail. The owner is 6'5" tall so we have lowered the drivers seat mountings on the floorpan to gain additional helmet clearance to the cage (and lower the CoG for improved handling).

Take one roll of masking paper and several rolls of tape, Then get vacuum cleaner and airline to bblow/suck out debris from all the cavities. You can guarantee that anything left in the shell will blow out and ruin the paint if you don't do this thoroughly!
