Yup, on the RS the glovebox front panels are bonded over the painted metal panel and you can see the paint around the closed door.

Looks good, a great colour for the big spoiler kit!
Price and availability always affect the choice.....

The boys were back in town this morning and straight into the job of having this car finished by the end of this week.

First job was to fit the seat belts and harnesses, both are required to comply with local road use requirements to have inertia reel seat belts.

As soon as the doors were hung and aligned, Owen set to work reshaping the door cap mouldings. Andy is all set to trim these tomorrow to meet our weekend deadline.

Door tops sorted, time to fit the new RS door panels and handles. The door release pull straps were specially made in Blue Turquoise.

Column switches refitted, awaiting steering wheel. We're using a three spoke GT3 style airbag wheel with a retrimmed rim, double padded to increase the thickness. Again the airbag wheel is being retained to comply with local licensing laws.

The factory RS Clubsport would have a non-airbag Sparco wheel (or similar) with a collapsible momo style boss. To fit this wheel you would have to exchange the 993 swithc covers for the 964 version; the 964 column surround has a smaller diameter clearance hole to match the more compact momo boss, without the 964 surround you would see the centre of the column switch between the two.

Small detail from the gearbox build: option M003 993RS Clubsport steel syncro rings to replace the factory bronze rings. Clubsport ring is on the left.

These parts raise the question to how Porshce set their pricing structure? Two of the RS rings are £370 each, the other 4 are £160 each, so that's £1380 +VAT for a set of syncro rings. Ouch.

Final little detail from today. The GT2 front uprights and RS disc & caliper assembly have a unique backplate, so we ordered new ones from Porsche to finish the build. Typical Porsche attention to detail, once came in silver and the other came in black.....

Technically it could, but in this case it is not. The car now lives in Northern Europe and will now probably spend most of its life driving around the 'Ring.

any other mods in the gearbox: re-gearing, 8/32, etc?

the price of the syncro rings are shocking? Is there any aftermarket part for these?

Having stayed silent and just enjoyed the postings from Colin and all the encouraging comments from the community I can only say that it has been fantastic to follow the work Colin and his crew has performed on my car and I am bursting to see, feel and drive the car in the next few days.

As you see I have adopted a fitting name to match the car here on Rennlist, the same name will later be the registration number/plate on the car.

I will as soon as I can post videos from various tracks we drive and of course from the mother of them all the Ring
