I cringe at buying a car like a 993 from a dealer. Yes, these aren't $1mil cars, but nothing like meeting the real owner of a car to figure out how it's been treated, at least on their watch.

A google search will tell you everthing you need to know. Looks like a long list of horror stories.

I agree. When buying from thrid party dealers, discovery takes a sharp turn. Gotta believe a clear understanding of the vehicles condition and history has value.

Go kick some tires,,, Diamond in the rough,,, Pig in a poke,,, Cream puff One owner,,,

They're a typical consignment dealer .. meaning they get dealt what they get dealt and try to sell the cars they take under contract for as much as they can get for their clients and themselves. They make no warranties express or implied and it's up to the buyer to do due diligence in discovery.

People who use consignment dealers are really two types of sellers. They have a good car but just don't want to be involved in the selling process at all and are willing to pay someone else to do it for them OR they have a car that has a lot of problems or a sketchy past and they want a dealer to represent the car so they're not responsible. Either way, the buyer is NEVER represented in any deal and the salesmen are trained to make you think otherwise. Putting a set of eye's on the car first to evaluate it's actual condition in person and then a thorough PPI is the only way to go.
To Top Gear's credit, I do know that a PPI on a Turbo they were selling recently uncovered some expensive mechanical problems and as a result of the discovery, the engine was pulled and repaired.

Are all of their cars consignment? I've called on a few over the years and he seemed pretty truthful and straightforward about the cars being his that he had bought.....and putt alittle tlc,(armor all),in and was re-selling.I'll give him one thing, who ever does his photography does a jam up job, they know just the right angles to make any car pop,and especially a WB 993. Kinda makes me wonder about the yellow c4s now.......and if it's truely being flipped.I've also noticed other dealers car being sold through them and wondered if a dealer is consigning there car through another dealer?

True that Ed! However, one dealer I would buy from is my good friend Tim Holt.

This seems to be a top gear car...but they photochopped the top gear sign on the wall...if this is them they seem to not want their name associated with this car?

Have heard only good things about him, Top Gear on the other hand I've heard nothing good about. They seem to have some interesting cars in there and some real high dollar stuff.
