Anyone like my shift insert
My 95 Blk on blk 993 was in need of a new shift insert. Have kept it black inside so didnt want to go with an aluminum type insert. So found a billet one and had it powdercated with the numbers matching the red gauge colors. What do you think?

I've done this also on the coupe, in white, but used a different product.
Lacquer-stik
http://www.markal.com/lacquer-stik/
This is what is used to fill engravings on skis, bowling *****, etc.
The product now is a bit different than what was produced 30 years ago (it was really lacquer then). You need to use multiple thin layers and let it thoroughly dry between layers. It sets up nice after a week.
It is easily removed w/ mineral oil. I've had it installed for over a year now and it is holding up well. I'm not sure if I'll keep it that way.
About $7.00 at Walmart

I went with the powdercoating because I wanted it not to rub off. The fact that they were able to pwdercoat the red as well and keep the lines as is was incredible. Great job by my powdercoater guys

Where did you get the shift insert? Mine is worn and I need a new one, but I have the rootwood shifter and evidently the size of the insert is different from the stock shifter (I've been unable to verify if this is actually accurate though).
