I love my V1 but my first thought on that was "Great, now my phone can give me false alarms also"

:D

There are 3 additional data screens with the following information:

Situation Awareness three ways
Choose among three information screens at any time.
  • One reproduces V1's front-panel warnings including signal strength, Bogey Counter and Radar Locator.
  • The threat Picture screen shows the full width of all activated bands and all signal activity on them.
  • Or you can choose the threat List, which shows in list form all signals within range, each with an accompanying arrow to show direction.
  • The list order is arranged according to time tracked, longest time at the top. A flashing arrow marks the greatest threat.
You can run V1 in dark mode while keeping its warnings low in the cockpit for your eyes only.

Beyond Situation Awareness
Think of V1 connection as the Master Controller for your V1 system.
You can revise programming, adjust SAVVY settings, change muting, activate dark mode, save custom programming profiles for different trips, and more, all from your hand-held.

V1connection brings new programming options. Coverage can now be specially tailored to the unique radar bands used outside the U.S.

There is such a thing as too much information....this is probably an example of it.

You may be right ... however, I am a tech guy and there is no such thing as too much information.

Hello officer, I was not aware of my actual speed because I was studying my V1 Threat Picture ...

And "threat picture" -- are we flying Apache gunships over Afghanistan?

All the phone needs to do now is to transmit microwave energy back to fry the source!

Oh ****...just rear ended the cop.

I have a 993 because I don't like all the computers and screens on the new cars...(among other reasons!!)...why would I want to stare at arrows on the phone while driving it? I like my V1 with the knob and arrows.

I put my all upgraded V1 on the shelf and use the clamp on nav system, loaded with all the known mobile and stationary GPS data. It's much more reliable although it gives me warnings more often, as the system doesn't know if the threat is there at the moment or not.
I can select the warning time and distance so I can look out for it or just acknowledge and keep going. No matter if it's laser or radar, the warning is there. I like it better then a detector that just tells me when it's too late anyways.

...the clamp on nav system...EckFe1
What system is this, EckFe1?

Hmmm.....so I am blasting down the highway, talking on the phone, trying to following directions on my nav software on my phone, and I now need to toggle over to the V1?? Sometimes seperate/mission critical devices are warranted.

Seems cool. When it comes out for iOS it will make a nice added function to a retired iphone/iPod touch that is left in the car and just used for MP3 player duty.
