How do you know its the Radio vs other issues that can happen (like loose latch)?

yes.... did you just install it? You have to play with it a bit to get it so it doesn't push on/squeeze the little slider/retainer arm for the door.... if it does, the friction will keep the door from opening....just get the radio as far over to the left in the slot as you can.... even 1/8" will make a difference.... you could have also gotten one of the wires behing that hook, preventing it from coming down...

Very common after an ICE install that the cable fouls the glovebox hinge, remove and replace stereo with more care!

Yeah, the glove box door has a hook like stop that's catching your antenna wire.

Your going to have to pull the unit and reposition the wires.

If the glove box is fine with the radio out, the radio cables are fouling the glove box retaining arm.

Pull out and replace radio keeping cables away from right hand side.

There is a narrow opening under the dash where a small hand can help to guide the cable as you push the radio back in.

Test glove box door opening as you push in radio.

Advice above is right. It's a wire (probably the antenna wire) caught in the glovebox hinge stop.

Unlikely antenna wire - it's on the left of the radio.
However, it's like a rat's nest behind the radio and as far as i can see, just a matter of luck where the cables finally come to rest, once the radio is fully seated.
