It is amazing how so many cars aren't moved out of harms way.
Seeing many photos of underground garages in apt complexes were full of cars and flooded.
Get ready for home and car INS rates to climb.

Wow, we sure are a bunch of compassionate P-car enthusiasts aren't we?
OP's 1st thought is to score the wheels. Rest chimed in with tongue-in-cheek remarks and descriptive metaphors that frankly paint this board in a way I'm not proud of.
Fortunately there is zero chance the owner will be reading this thread, given the headaches s/he faces in the here and now.

I think it is obvious to everyone, that with the death toll, and the damage to people's homes and places of work, the damage to a few cars is the least of anybody's worry. Even though we all love our hobby, we understand that they are just automobiles. For that reason, I don't think a little light hearted joking about a damaged car, and the inevitable scams related to cars that come after a disaster like this, is that offensive. Sometimes it strikes a little too close to home, but it's always wise to keep in mind the spirit that the joking is intended.

The likely story is that these are second homes stocked with summer cars. I'll bet the owner was nowhere nearby. Why would he go rescue the car? It can be replaced and the bigger worry is the home.
