Sell 6GT3 and pick up 993?
Some input. Looking at picking up a 993 as a street car, the maybe sell the GT3 and pick up a dedicated PCA E class car like a spec Boxster or 964 for track work. It's been a while since I've driven 993 and I am wondering if anyone here has had both? Again, just talking street use here so my wife might want to drive the car, take my son, etc. The GT3 is just driven to the track it seems. Not sure financially I can keep GT3 adding trailer, track consumables.

Unless you plan to actually race a spec boxster or 964, stick with your 996 GT3 for track time.It is fast, reliable and precise.
Beside, I cant see the depreciation hit of selling the 996 to buy a used E class racer/consumables making any financial sence unless you really wish to go racing and spend money.
Perhaps to fill the 993 bug you can find a nice carrera driver in tip or stick that could be shared between you and the wifey for daily duty..... Buy it and run the hell out of it for a few years...
Either that, or just use the 996 more as a street car for daily duty until you find the ultimate 993 you would sell your 996 for....

What are your goals? Do you want to race? Spec Box is not E class. Neither is the 964---all 964s I have seen are in F,G, or H.
What run group are you in, and how much track time do you have under your belt? How much track time do you anticipate doing on a yearly basis? You really need to answer all of the above questions to figure out an answer.
You have the perfect track weapon at your disposal in the GT3. And it can be driven on the street unless you decide to make it a stripper with full cage. The dedicated track car is the cheap part. Don't forget about tow vehicle, trailer, consumables, etc... And one last thing, be sure to remember that the Box or 964 you buy will be significantly slower than the 6-3 you currently drive.
Good luck!!!

I race a 993 in PCA runs stock G without wing or GT5S with ballast and wing on, also own a street Speed Yellow 993 street car. Sounds to me like you are in the middle with a nice GT3 that is not a race car but not exactly a street only car. If you want to go racing buy a race ready car with a log book for series and class you want to run in most cost effective way and least headaches, then go have fun. If I can be of any help let me know.
