Thanks. I hope I don't need it. I seriously doubt anyone in town has done more than one 993 windshield in the last 10 years. Most of the guys I see in the glass shops probably weren't even in the business 10 years ago. Even the dealers and indies sub it out to their local glass shop.

Over here in the uk they cost me £300 + vat for a pilkington screen.

Don't let the installer glue the rubber trim in place. It is meant to snap in to the channel.

It was too good to be true. They had mixed up the windshield codes. The best deal they could get on an a Porsche windshield was $1100 plus install. I ended up just getting 4 rock chips fixed. Oh well.

I questioned him when he originally quoted it to me. He was quite apologetic today and gave me a big discount on the rock chip repairs. I explained that I was not surprised in the end.
