Lug Nut Lock Question
Apparently I have lost the lug nut lock key (sounds weird). I have what I assume are the original lug nuts on the wheels.
Does anyone know where to get another key? I looked on Pelican Parts and found nothing. Or perhaps a work around that doesn't involve a torch, laser or explosives?
Thanks,

Michael, if its the factory lock, you can take your car to a dealer who has a set of locks, and by test fitting, will identify the correct part number and order it for you. Don't ask me how I know...

If it is a factory Porsche wheel lock, you can order it from McGard.
All you need is the key number (jot it down somewhere once you have it). I sent McGard a digital pic of my wheel nut or you can get the number as mentioned in posts already. They are $25 shipped. Order two; one to keep in the car and another in your tool box.

Before going to all the trouble, popular hiding spots for the key are glovebox, ashtray, pouch in the frunk (that's designed for the roadside reflector), inside the tool kit itself or in the recess with the spare tire.

go to the dealer.
since i didnt have a dealer in my area i had to take a mold from the lock nut on the car and forge it out of aluminum.
dealer would have been much easier

I found a set of nice factory basket weaves with good tires on a BMW E34 520 in a junk yard in Germany that I wanted for my 525. Problem is, they each had wheel locks and the key could not be found anywhere in the car. Luckily, somebody had already removed the front struts with the wheels attached. It was obvious that somebody tried to get the wheel off with channel locks on one of the struts. I bought one of the wheel/strut assemblies and took it to the local BMW dealer to match the key. Parts guy came out with a kit of 25 keys, found the one that fit and 6 Euros later I was on the way back to the junk yard to retrieve the rest of the wheels. Shouldn't be a big deal if you can drive to the dealer and match a key.

Good news. I went to the dealership near me and they took out the case of lock nut keys and matched mine. I then bought a used key from them for $20. Score. Now I am going to get a set of aftermarket lug nuts and be done with those stupid lock nuts.
