As an owner of a 2006 997 C2S and a 1996 993 C4S, I generally would agree with the article. The 993 is more raw, engaging and higher quality (in the interior at least) but the 997 is much more comfortable, precise, and all of its limits are higher. I beat the 997 hard on the track and enjoy driving it on the street but I also love cruising around in the 993 with the windows down, savoring a twisty road with no particular destination. My overall recommendation: get both!
