Searched and came up empty...what to do when remote doesn't work?
1995, has the immobilizer and keyless entry.
Long story short, my key fob got submerged in the ocean. When I got to the car, no workie. Unlocked the car manually, mayhem erupts with lights and horn, etc.
Very long story short, I got the fob apart, dried, spare battery inserted, and got it to work. But it begs the question, "What if I didn't get it to work?"
So, if I have the key, and the remote isn't working for whatever reason, is there a way to get the car started, and if so, how do I do it?

There is a complicated sequence of key "on and off" that should be specified in your manual to shut off the alarm and allow the car to start. I never want to try that out!

Keep a copy of the procedure in the glove compartment, just in case. You'll need the 4-digit code for your car. Try the procedure when you have time, again just in case. Took me 2 or 3 times before I succeeded. It's not that difficult really.
