Value has always been what a willing and able buyer will pay there are folks out there with the means to buy what they want did everyone follow that group of "turbo" cars sold a few months ago? There were record prices paid for those.

... I'm still waiting for verified proof of that sighting .. pictures, another witness .. anybody ..? Bueller ....? Not trying to discredit anybody here .. but to my knowledge nobody on RL has EVER seen another Paint to Sample Riv Blue S in person, in pictures online, in a magazine ... AFAIK and it seems very unlikely. Proof please.

I know Ben, and I've never known him to be dishonest.
GYMGUY, on the other hand, has been caught spreading mistruths about this car since day one.
My money is on Ben.

You are right total lie, car has 30 owners, and is beat to hell. Please don't bid on this car. You guys are the ones that told me these so called facts!! I have spoke to most everyone that is truly serious about the car on the phone. If anyone is serious I am happy to talk on the phone. If you don't have time for that you are obviously not serious. Many more detailed pics and video coming.

Quad is only half right. In an auction environment it takes a minimum of two numb nuts to drive the price to excessive heights. A Ducati 750GT, not as nice as the one sitting in my garage, got hammered down at an RM auction in Monte Carlo for $49,242 (lot#172). This about twice what it is worth, but according to Sports Car Market magazine, two people just had to have it. By the way, if you think you might enjoy being constantly reminded of beautiful cars you would love to have but can't afford, then a subscription to SCM is exquisite torture...

I was going to say miles when I put in my vote, but I see a lower mileage 98 Ocean Blue C2S that didn't sell for bid of $78k. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Porsc...item2c67053fb8
So it must be color. I haven't kept up with the thread, if it is paint to sample, was Rivi Blue not offerred in 98?

I voted "other" for the simple reason of the internet, aka the free flow of information. 15 years ago maybe someone would see an ad for one of these 3-dimensional-piece-of-art cars, and say to himself "hey, oddball color so what the hell." And at a concours or meet 2-3 times a year it's a conversation piece. Then everyone goes home and it's pretty much forgotten. Now? Half a bajillion enthusiasts can go Dutch tulip bulb on a car/color.
