Wow... I'm about to do a major overhaul of my Gray interior, and I had in mind alot of the same parts you used. After seeing the end result, I'm super motivated! Your interior turned out amazing!

No, because I haven't figured that out myself
I plan to keep the rubber shift boot exposed and just custom make a trim piece out of aluminum sheet. The hand brake is tricky, I have an old 911 rubber handbrake boot there loosely for now, but all the mechanism is exposed. You can always custom make a leather boot, but I want to make the rubber boot work. Maybe I will figure something out this winter.
You should take a look at the newer singer cars based on the 964. They kept most of the center console and just got rid of the switches. That's not a bad solution either.

Great looking transformation. Looks so purposeful. Was there much change in weight loss? Looking to rip out my interior as well.... Although I'm too lazy and would leave in the power windows and door locks

This is the best I've seen outside of a Singet, fabulous job. I'm rethinking my no carpet decision after seeing this. Does the carpet cover the tunnel? I have the same issue with ebrake and shifter and will be very interested to see what you come up with.

thanks for bringing up this thread again.
reminded me to copy 993kt's wire harness cleanup. took all of 2 minutes to cut a piece
and put it in place and now my missing lower dash area looks so much better.
its the little touches that make the difference.

Thanks. I also spray painted the foam under dash flat black, and chopped off part of the vent diffusor (those are some pretty fancy molded plastic, and saved about 4oz). This winter I need to figure out the trim around the shifter and handbrake. I also want to redo the middle part of the dash and around the dials, getting rid of the stick on leather texture. Ideally I want it to be a brushed anodized black finish.
I will get the car on the scale this spring when I redo the alignment, so we'll all know how little weight I saved

Yeah, there is hardly weight saving in converting the power locks and windows. Definitely not for the money. The RS door cards are worth it I think. It was nice that I could pull out the whole door wiring harness though. The doors feel much lighter when opening and closing. The fatal flaw is that there is no lock cylinder on the passenger side, so you can't open the door for your lady gracefully. I am still looking for a lock cylinder to put back in there.

Nice job! ...I'm also working on cleaning up the under dash. I'm going to extend the side kick plates up a bit and re-cover when i finish the carpet kit. It's never done...
