Curious though what Peter chose for motorcycles . . .
This came from a Peter's column in March 97' Cycle World. He and his friends opined that one needed five motorcycles, horses for courses, if you will. Category 1 was sport bike, for which he had a Ducati 900SS . Category 2 was sport touring. He said he told people he was between bikes in that category and then in pure Eganeze, allowed as how he was really "between money". You gotta love this guy! Category 3 was dirt bike, for which he had a Triumph T100C. He said it was adequate but something more modern was in the offing. Category 4 was "a great big hog of some kind" for which he had a Harley Road King. Category 5 was "an old crock". This was the category he said many of us have too many bikes. He didn't pick one but I believe he had Vincent Black Shadow at that time or a Ducati 750 GT like mine.

I had a lot of fun reading the list of cars you all picked. I should have set it up better, like Peter did, with 5 specific categories. I'm not sure 5 would be enough but they would include: daily driver, track or DE car, true four seater, modern hot rod like the Ferrari Enzo or McLaren 12C, an finally a true classic like the 1958 Ferrari
250 California roadster. Maybe for another day. Thanks to everyone for posting....it was a blast, I found myself checking for your posts to this every hour or so......Cheers.....Chris

I played this same game a few years ago but we twist, garage of six and two on the drive, these where mine at the time:
288GTO - goes without needing to say anything
993C2 or c2s, manual in silver, white or red, or blue (that's why I'm here)
Then I go Euro weird
Citroen SM
Aston DB2/4
RS2600 Capri
Then a sleeper heavy American muscle drag toy
Glaxie 500

The two on the drive where:
Range Rover - no better way to pull race cars and kids. Did I say this was just a road car list?
Golf Gti- sometimes you. Just need a car to park at a station, downtown and enjoy the day / evening without freaking out what could be going on with your ride.

It was good nonetheless, but if you did have categories, I think they should be more diverse. But maybe that is just my perspective from where I live in the Rockies. I happen to have a garage that will hold a few more than 5 cars. Technically I have four cars so you got me thinking on the 5th. On the other hand you could count my snowmobile as a 5th as it takes up a spot too.
1. off road / daily / ski hill: Mercedes G wagen.
2. Road tripper, car hauler,: Dodge Durango
3. Tidy sports car: 993 Targa
4. Race car: fully prepped Subaru Impreza (rally spec)
5. What else do you need? A classic? '73 911 s (but my sled is a Yamaha Nytro)

1) RUF Turbo R (I have a 993TT, keep it but convert it)
2) 2002 Jeep TJ with 32's on 16's and 2" lift (have it, damn thing is fun to drive and jeep owners wave at each other just as much as we do)
3) Ferrari 458 Italia
4) Porsche Spyder 918 or Carrera GT
5) Ferrari 250 California Roadster (thank you Ferris Bueller for bringing this car into my world)
