with a father that owns a car dealership, certainly the opportunity to drive and own a variety of cars at a young age is something Bosch is bless to have.
while we are a 993 centric group, we are all inclined to persuade him from getting rid of the 993, but it seems like a pretty wise choice to me, and he has access to other sports cars for the occasion.

I have no experience with any of the Audi forums, only 6-speedonline, benzworld and some mazda forums, and frankly, none are even close to rennlist, much less the 993 forum, so do not expect that.

Aside from that, I am surprised no one has inquired about pics of the sister yet.

I agree you WILL regret it. Exspecailly once the service bills start rolling in, and they will.

What engine, what trans some are more expensive and problematic then others.

I had a B5 A4 1.8T with a manual with like 118k miles.

repairs were cheap for the most part. Fixing the thing could have been easier, but with small hands and some will power, it wasn't too bad.

Man, I feel like an old fart just writing this, but my kid is going to get somehting equivalent to a used Golf TDI with 80hp for their first car...
The Audi's are very nice and the Avant is probably the best looking wagon on the market. If you feel like you need the extra room get the Audi, at $9k you will have plenty of money leftover from selling the 993 to drop into repairs IF you need them.

Get the wagon and then dump it on some aggressively offset Rotiform wheels.
Stanced gets girls. Boom done.

If you're going to be selling your 993, why wouldn't you buy a nice, low-mileage A4 - possibly even one with a warranty. 993 money should get you just about any A4 you want. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't spend all your money on an Audi, but I would think you could play it safer than a 150k mile car.
As a side note, my '95½ S6 has 162k on it, and has been very low-maintenance. But the AAN motor is remarkable. I wouldn't expect the same from a 2.0T.

I have B6 as DD with 90K. Nice ride and Quattro ROCKS!
However, compare to 993, I had my share of issues with A4. I practically visited "Audizine' just as much as Rennlist daily but for different reason.
Two comments for you...
1)150K used car is not going to be a good buy no matter how cheap it is at time of purchase.
2)If I were you at 17!, I will trade for RS4 B7. (avant if you can find one...)
I almost thought about doing this but later came to my senses.
