Fister stage III's installed, my thoughts

Had a run with a 6 other P-cars on Sunday through the mountain roads and everyone commented on the Stage-IIIs.
Quote below is lifted from an Australian forum we are on -
"Theo I think your car won the best sounding in a close photo finish with David's."
By the way, David's car is a GT3-RS4.0
I do have one slight problem with the Stage-IIIs though......my fuel consumption has gone through the roof!! I just have to keep it revving higher for longer!!! Can't help it.

I think they do, informally; Motor Sound mufflers with the Stage II treatment...I believe they add the external bypass, while the MS mufflers also have an internal bypass that standard mufflers don't have.

Good reading.
I'm going to weld my own exhaust next week (need to get the boat out of the garage first..) and if I'm not happy with the sound, I was going to buy the Stage II. But after reading this tread i'm not so sure...
Is it the Stage III I should buy?

Anyone drive their cars to work? Are the IIIs to loud while driving by check points or in/out garages? Just wondering about the additional attention I might get (not that I really care he, he, he...).

Anyone do a before & after dyno session with OE vs stage II vs stage III? Just checking that it isn't awesome sound but -10 hp. ;-)
Also, any drone at different RPMs?

Daily Drive mine, and park in a parking garage at work. People definitely notice, but no complaints yet.

I haven't either but the OP's description of the Stage IIs is exactly how I felt when I heard them. The person whose car had the Stage IIs actually traded IIIs for the IIs because he thought the IIIs were too loud. Exhaust preferences are highly subjective but based on what I've read here it sounds like I would like the IIIs.

Guys, I recently traded my cab for a 1996 C4S (avatar) and couldn't be happier. I turned the car over to Darin Fister to do a few upgrades including Fister Stage 3's and the car sounds incredible. Based on the you tube postings, I initially thought Stage 3's might be a bit too loud for a conservative, late 40 year old but they're just right. I'm even already considering adding sport cats. I'd say they're noticeable but hardly obnoxious. For those having the same dilemna as I was, I'd definitely recommend Fister Stage 3's. Again they're incredible.

I am very keen on this but don't want to let go of my original mufflers so that I always have the option to put the car back to stock. If only he had an option to sell the units with cores so I could keep my original mufflers intact.
