Yep, good luck with the visual inspection and keep us posted how it went. I still think it's a "grab now, ask questions later" price for a TT.

Mr. Rental,
Not much to add, but I did drive through Kamloops in September 2005. Purchased my 993 in Seattle and drove it to Maryland, with a slight detour or two.

Yeap Hans I think you are right. I did not remember the color and much of the details, I just remember hearing that the said owner thought it was a "light damage" but in reality it was pretty huge...

Good luck, hope the car checks out for you!

Rented a car, drove 7 hours last night and I am in Calgary now. Either driving the rental car or a 993 TT home.

Keep you posted!

Mate if you are still in Calgary I'd be nabbing it. I've seen some miraculous paint restorations done on black cars to make them better than new.

Even if you threw $10k at this car you are still by in large ahead by a mile...are you sure you want to pass?

not really.

$50k is about right for a higher mile 993TT

I'm with Quad here. And my gut tells me that $10K is just the beginning.

Having tried it both ways -- buying a fixer-upper for a "bargain" versus buying a car that doesn't need work -- it's pretty much always cheaper (and far less time-consuming) to pay more up front for a nice car. The fixer-upper has to be really, really dirt cheap for it to make sense.

Better pics would be nice. You did the right thing with long drive to inspect it.

I think under $40K qualifies as dirt cheap for 993TT in Canada.

I also have yet to see "a car that doesn't need work" that doesn't actually need work.
