Just bought a second 993 for $47...
So look what I just found on eBay:

Black over tan with mileage ~70k. Yeah it's tiptronic, but at this price I could probably afford a transmission swap (or just let the wife use it).
Grand total for the purchase was ~$59. $47 for the car and $12 shipping from Connecticut to California.
Something tells me the seller is going to back out of this one though...

Nope, $47.00 for the car and ~$12.00 for shipping. Unfortunately the seller has already written back stating they will need to issue a refund as their intent was to list the car at $47,000.
It was worth a shot...

I guess I woke up in a trollish mood today. Here is the correspondence so far:

His first note following the close of the auction:
Hi there sorry I have to refund you there is a mistake with the listing this is a real car selling for 47000$ dollars car not miniature sorry about this
There was no mistake on my part. My intention was to bid on and buy a car, not a miniature. I am taking on significant risk by buying your car online without any evidence showing of a vehicle has a clean title, of prior service records, or a thorough pre-purchase inspection. I already own one Porsche 993 coupe and therefore understand intimately just how costly these cars can be to repair if not properly maintained. None the less, I submitted an offer at your specified "Buy It Now" price because I am willing to take on such risk. It is entirely inappropriate to attempt to renegotiate the closing price of an auction after it has closed, especially since it closed at a price that you specified within your auction. I am, however, willing to pay the true cost of shipping, rather than the amount approximated in the auction, so that you do not incur any loss there.
In closing any attempt at renegotiation or refund, violates the spirit and sanctity of the auction house. Attempting to do either is simply unacceptable.

Yeah, I figure there are some loop holes in there that don't give me much to stand on. As bukowski stated above, sometimes someone just need to be taught a lesson. I can request to cancel the order, which I'll probably do by the end of the day to let him off the hook. I think by then, he'll have **** a couple bricks.
