When do you know you've gotten used to a 993?

Funny to see everyone's take. But most of you are comparing a 911 against another car. You just don't "get" how incrementally upgraded the platform became until you take a step back at least two generations.
After I had my little lapse, I considered how different the '84 is with all the frou-frou versus what was my '68. Gauges and key position, check. But consider the heater vent sliders down by your ankles, a simple lever for heat regulation, absolutely no ventilation system to speak of..........and no chance of grabbing reverse from fifth because it's already down and right!

Try to find reverse or first when you regularly swap between a 902,915 and a G50/G64 and all of them are unmarked(Wevo on 902,Hargett Pro on 915 and Rothsport SSK goldenrod on G50). Can make for an embarrassing moment or two. A problem everyone should have.

Moving from a 5 speed Boxster to a 6 speed 993 was confusing at first, but now it's easy and intuitive. Previously I couldn't understand why a 272 hp engine needed 6 speeds. Now I know.
