The same Midnight Blue car will look different an hour later, the next day, or under cloud cover.

I've almost bought a Midnight Metallic Blue twice now. Once for the Boxster and once for the Turbo. I'm almost convinced, if I brought home a 3rd Porsche, in MMB, my wife would let me keep it! She loves this color.

not quite as hard as black....but much more rewarding!
Fully agree that it is the chameleon of colors....sometimes it looks dark blue, just blue, metallic blue, purple, or black
Did I miss any?

Wow...Iris Blue is so close to my Ocean Blue Metallic. It was tough and still is to see the subtle differences depending on how the light hits these cars.
Mine also shows cues of Purple depending on the shade:

hank you for posting the comparison.
I've owned Midnight and Iris, seen Ocean. Ocean is closer to midnight IMHO, but whereas the midnight has a tinge of deeper blue or even black, Ocean has a tinge of very deep dark green. It decidedly IS NOT GREEN, but much like the deep blue sea has a whisper hint of green to it, ocean blue does as well. I haven't seen Zenith up close.
All three are nearly impossible to photo accurately given the subtleties.

One of these days, at one of the many 993 gatherings, folks should line up their Midnight Blue, Ocean Blue, Zenith Blue, Riviera Blue, Blue Turquoise and Iris Blue 993's. Now that would be awesome.
I'm more partial to the brighter hues, especially the blues.
