I am currently building a GT3 track car in much the same fashion as Smurf - there are many more "obstacles" and "what-ifs" in the 997 world when compared to 993s....not to mention double/triple the cost of just about everything.
Rob, totally agree. I have reasonable seat time on the track in 7-Gt3s and it just ain't them same. Grip, power, yeah yeah, but they aren't 993s.

You're first on the buy list if I ever sell the smurf. In the meantime I'm taking care of it like you would

Great choice...its like you are reading my (previous) mind - the plan all along was early Evo.

MA Shaw - Mike has been good to work with re. weight/strength/material requests. Previous parts from him have fit well basically out of the box. Anticipate having to do some sanding and shimming for fenders & flares.

Looking great Matt... looking forward to the final SmurSR.

Any chance of getting pics of the side skirt install, I have always wondered how these go on.

Steven, will post pics along the way. Looks like we're going to bond the side skirts to the rockers.

Is the tail/lid Carbon Fiber? Looks like a CF pattern in the back wall ... this is the taller GT2 tail with the large air inlets, correct?

Yes the tail is CF as well as the wing. Tail is a 3.8 which doesn't have bilateral air intakes like the RSCS or GT2 tail/wing combos. Early RSRs ran the 3.8 tail base with 50" or 60" wings. Later RSRs and Gt2s ran the 60" banana wing.
