But, but, but I thought it sold on Ebay??? I'm sure SF Craigslist will bring a wider audience.

The cost of the "initial motor" was $30K? The rest of the "Ruf C4S" must have come with it for free.

I've always liked this car. It's weird that it was sold right after completion. And to nitpick, is the front bumper cover fitting a little weird? Especially around the hood?

When it was on eBay wasn't it well north of 100K? If I had 99K I would be having miles of smiles. I wonder what he invested in it?

I thought it sold on Ebay somewhere in the region of high $80's, low 90's. Pure speculation why its still for sale.

I followed it on fleabay because it was a no reserve auction. I just went back and I must have deleted it after it closed and it isn't showing up yet in a completed auction search. I'm pretty confident it didn't break the $100K mark on fleabay.

Literally a million threads here and elsewhere on the internet about this car. I don't believe it ever ran correctly after the engine build was completed.

Just for fun:

In the beginning...

pics here:

then...
https://rennlist.com/forums/993-foru...-for-sale.html

along with a little collateral damage...
https://rennlist.com/forums/993-foru...s-c4s-ruf.html

and then...
https://rennlist.com/forums/993-foru...-this-car.html

but a few months later...
https://rennlist.com/forums/993-foru...ally-done.html

and then 2 years and a handful of months after that...
https://rennlist.com/forums/993-foru...g-b-i-r-d.html

After that, I don't know what happened to it. I saw a video of it at some event with the then owner (after Alvin). I don't know how it ran but it sure looked good.

Yes. It was a Craigslist "find" maybe on the day we had one of our midweek 993 meets a few summers ago. I remember discussing it with Alvin, as I was going to tell him about the ad but he'd already seen it or maybe even had bought the engine. Once Rob @ SCARGO had a look into it, it was pretty much a disaster. Project went off the rails from there. Fine when you have the spare bucks. Guess it's not so fine when your financial world collapses????

Thanks for posting all those links to give the history. That was an entertaining hour for me. I was not on RL at that time so this is all new to me.
