In what is becoming a never-ending search I had a fellow Rennlinster and 993 owner have a look at an interstate c4 I am seriously considering.
Seems a reasonable car. 113km, manual, white over black.
Very standard and unmolested (at this stage).
Air con seems to be an issue which should be easily resolved, but I'm a little concerned about the steering rack.
When driving straight and turning the wheel it seems that the steering "binds" and then lets go at about the 10 and 2 o'clock positions. Certainly nothing that makes the car undriveable but nonetheless needs to be addressed at some stage.
Anyone experience the same thing or any suggestions apart from the rack?
Being a C4, I would check the front diff seals for signs of leakage ..... and check lube level if possible: the differential must 'do its thing' when turning.
The half shafts can have an impact .... but if that bad, you would be driven mad by the clicking & snapping from one or more of the CV's.
LCR ball joints are a lesser third on the list ..... and the top strut bearing comes into play ..... but very rarely I think.
