My 993 was stolen this weekend

So sorry to hear that. I can't imagine how violated you feel. I have had some things stolen before (nothing even close to what happened to you) and I couldn't believe how upset it made me. If you want to look on the bright side, at least it wasn't a home invasion where you or anyone else could have been hurt or worse.

My house was broken into last year. The thief made off with an expensive watch, a game used Derek Jeter signed jersey (forcibly removed from a glass enclosed frame) and the key to my 993. My neighbor heard the door being busted in but thought it was a typical sound of the neighborhood. It was only after he came out to greet his wife did he look over and saw the door busted in. He came over to my side door and saw the thief crossing his path and making a run for it. My neighbor circled around his house hoping to catch him on the other side but apparently he had an accomplice waiting in a car and he took off. It was 6:30 pm and I was at the gym; 20 minutes later and I would have walked into a robbery in progress. Ultimately the thief was targeted by the police since he continued to rob other homes. When the police finally got a search warrant for his house, the thief had pawned the jewelry and other valuables. However the police found the Porsche key in his house; we all suspect he was planning to come back at some point to steal the car (which I moved to a friend's garage right after). The door from my laundry room to garage was slightly ajar. Ultimately he was convicted using the key as evidence and is now doing 5+ years in jail; he had been recently paroled for similar crimes.

Sorry to hear about your theft. Please be patient, you never know what can happen. When my civic was stolen in 2007, I got a call 2 years later! They caught a guy with the instrument cluster which they tracked backed to the VIN number. As part of the guys release or plea deal or whatever, he had to pay back my deductible. The good thing about thieves is that most of them don't know how to quit when they are ahead.

Wow...totally sucks.
My cousin's 2010 MB AMG C63 was stolen from his NYC apt parking garage. The car was found 2 days later, completely wrecked, hit on all 4 sides, abandoned on the street in Newark, with blood inside.
The silver lining for him was that the car was "replaceable" and after the insurance paid off the lease, they somehow cut him a check also, which ended up covering all the payments he made for a year. So he basically drove the car for a year for free.

Wow that sucks! I wish you smooth sailing with your insurance claim and I hope you come out for the better when it's all said and done.
It's just a complete pisser when you think about all the mods, effort and $$ on the 993. I hope "what comes around, goes around", for the f*ckers who have your cars.
Keep us posted.
