VALENTINE1 EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE
I just called Valentine1 with a question about my detector and considering an upgrade. It was after five and the woman answering put me on hold for someone in the technical department and came back on and asked me to hold again and Mike Valentine picked up! I was impressed that he picked up and he was apparently one of the last people in his office. It is nice to know that after building a successful company he is one of the last people there at the end of the day. Nice guy and I am upgrading my current unit. Thumbs up for V1.

Despite the proliferation of laser, I still feel naked without my V1. +1 on the excellent customer service. I, too, spoke to Mike Valentine a few years ago when I expected to talk to an anonymous CSR.

Any preferred vendor for these? I was just looking into a detector after spending so many hours on the highway last weekend; fortunately without incident. I never knew of the many options for custom installations, jammers, absorbent paint, etc. etc. I think I'll stick with a dash mount V1 or Escort.

^^^^Just call the number on any Valentine ad....I think they don't have vendors. You just have to deal with Mr. V himself.
I have one...many saves. And when it broke and I sent it back after many years of ownership, they sent it back within a few days, fixed...no charge. The best service and I DO love the arrows.

Thanks for the reminder. I need to upgrade from my Passport unit. A couple of years ago I went with a buddy to p/u a 928 in Calif and drive it to Dallas. We had his V1 and my Passport-his was always a split second quicker. If the arrows truly work, that's a plus also.

On our trip back from Palooza, w/ Mike on my tail and 3 others behind him, the V1 went off. There was a smokey in the median pointing our way. Went past him and less than 1/2 mi. later it was continuing to go off. V1 indicated radar both in front of me and behind me. Slowed back down and sure enough there was another one hiding behind an overpass support again facing our way.
I have 2 Bel RX 65's (?) that I keep in other cars (and like them) but the V1 is the one I take when I'm going to be driving aggressively in the P cars.

Assuming laser is more prevalent don't they need to be stationary to use? And does laser - lidar or whatever these speed detection devices are called work at night?
And btw....V1 all the way!!!! Couldn't imagine a detector without the directional arrows.
