993TT formerly Chuck W's
Hello all,
I am now the very proud owner of what was Chuck W's tastefully modified 993TT.
It's been an interesting 911 year for me. I started the year with a 997 C2S which was in my possession for approximately a year at that point. This was my first 911. During the course of that year I tried to learn all I could about the brand and model. It's history, engineering and passion. Part of that eduction was lurking on this forum, visiting the Porsche factory and museum and buying several books. It did not take long for me to develop a desire for an air cooled 911. My search started with early models 60s-70s but the prices were silly (at least for me).
One day I found a beautiful RSA and on an impulse I bought it. The car was in Alabama and I live in NJ. I flew down to pick it up and drove it home. That journey transformed my perception of these wonderful cars to only wanting an air cooled example. That is not to say that the 997 or any other water cooled 911 is not an amazing vehicle. They no doubt are. But for me the sounds, size and raw evocative nature of that 964 the 993 was and is intoxicating.
The 997 was transformed into a 993 C2 shortly thereafter.
While I loved the C2 the call of a TT was strong. Particularly after driving a friends. So now I have Chuck's. I'll never find the words to describe the experience of this car. It's alive in every way. The steering feel, the power, the brakes, the sounds ... I'm truly fortunate.
This car will be my daily driver. Yes you read that correctly. I've the pleasure of leading a division within a financial information and software company. Work and the pursuit of achievement had become all consuming with little time for pleasure. I've recently decided that life is to be lived and enjoyed. It's easy to lose sight of that and I had for some time. Enjoying this amazing car every day (at least when I'm not traveling) will be a small part of giving back to myself.
I would like to note the carrier that brought the car to me was to be an enclosed one and I had every assurance from the shipper. Sorry to say they sent an open carrier. The car arrived safe and sound with no damage. I paid a tiny amount as a result of this mix up and Chuck now has a cool avatar to lament the passing on of his amazing machine.
Lastly, I would like to highlight what so many here know. Chuck is a class act in every way. He made the process easy, he was patient, kept remarkable records and is just a pleasure. Wishing you the very best Chuck and I hope a TT makes it way to you soon.

I had the pleasure to ride in your car and meet Chuck at the recent RennSport Reunion at Laguna Seca. He kindly offered me a ride on the track for the lunch-time laps. It is a great car, and Chuck is a great guy. Best of luck to both of you.

As always, buy the seller, not the product. In most cases that will lead to a good product. In this case I'm sure that it'll hold true. Chuck's a great guy and his TT seems to be a good car and a very good buy.

congrats on acquiring a beautiful example of these extraordinary machines!
Your sentiment above is spot on, and priceless.
Every twist of the key starts the symphony, every gear change and throttle jab a smile, and every BIG foot full of brakes an OMG thought.
Enjoy it in good health.
