Do you know if you can find out the option codes via the VIN # of a 993? The car I am considering has the option code sticker gone from the hood.

yes you could. There are several places to do so, and one of the best is a site sponsor. Search Auto Atlanta VIN, register on their site, and you could have the details. If you are stuck, send me the VIN and I will give you the info, regards

Had used Auto Atlanta a couple of times in the past for a couple of potential purchases and now they seem to have locked out the VIN decoder unless you are a customer.

Any suggestions for other avenues?

Call your local dealer, talk to a service writer.
He/she can e-mail the options and details of the car.

It's called a Vehicle History Report. Any dealer with access to the Porsche system enters your VIN and out comes a 1 full page history of the car's details and page 2 is a long list of 3 digit codes. They include the "normal" build codes like "US Model" and things like that. And within are the 3 digit codes of the options selected at build time. Next suggestion is to join the forum as a full member - this info is priceless

Suncoast Porsche (FL) provided the same service, no idea if they still do it. I'll see if I can find the link from their site.

I found the report I got on my car but can't find the link on their web site any more. You may just run by your local dealer and get them to run it for you.

This is the option part from my report (unformatted though). They also have things like eng/tranny model/serial numbers and any outstanding recalls.
