New project for me, yet another 993 RS Clone for you :-(

Thanks guys, appreciate it (especially coming from the build we're looking at here).
Sounds like a pretty good plan. The nice thing about the early cars is that they are light and pretty much a blank slate, you can do anything to them (late suspension, etc). To downside is they need much more work to get to the same level.
I know how that goes. We didn't plan on going water cooled originally- we made that decision nearly half way through the project!
I thought hard about a pre-December 1975 build date car, but in the end I wanted to fiddle with a car that had the later suspension and a center tunnel for the water lines.
My plan was a Motec environment engine with independent throttle bodies and Cup cams to eliminate the Varioram. I was going to use the native oiling system in the 993 and eliminate the oil-water heat exchanger on the top of the GT3 engine. That move alone, drops the high point of water system bleed making things easier. Also I was going to use a single double pass front radiator canted in the front trunk and ducted from the front opening up through the hood with water fill points and bleeds both in the trunk and in engine compartment.

The picture I have wanted to take for a long time, chassis is completely cleaned underneath of all dirt, grease and cosmolene as of today!
What a lot of work, but rewarding and worth it for I have seen every nook and cranny the car has to offer and car is much more pleasant to work on.

Doing engine and waiting 6 weeks here, 2 weeks there is adding up.
Head work, piston & cylinder order, powder coating, cleaning parts, Porsche out of fan housings until March (mine had terminal corrosion) , Schrick out of valve train parts until February, etc.
Not much progress worth mentioning on chassis.
