Way, way cheaper than the other option = a new 911 which I considered.
Very brief consideration I might add, the new stuff sucks IMHO.
991 too big, bloated, over imposition of computer control (s), too gaudy, too complex, junk manual gearbox, engine without dry sump, the list goes on. Cayman OK in size, but has most of other issues, even though a mid engine really appeals to me.
Plus building a car is a lot more fun

DC Autocraft is doing a superb job in my opinion. This is a complete factory roof skin panel replacement deck lid to trunk lid. The drip rails were unrolled and they have even duplicated positions of factory spot welds and checked chassis on one of their Celette jigs. The car is moving over to the paint side of their shop next week. I am pretty excited here, but a lot of work left to finish what is on my plate.

Not to mention value depreciation at a vector direction and velocity equal to the flight of a refrigerator.

Great job and thanks for sharing! One question though...you mentioned the roof was aluminum? If so, how did they spot weld the aluminum to the steel chassis? Looks like a steel roof to me...the factory primes their new steel parts with black paint. Aluminum parts are usually shipped bare.

Bill, wants me to mention I changed to manual window winders and the electric versus manual mechanism, without the manual handles, differ by an astounding, ready for this...1.6 pounds. I figure the wiring I will remove and the switches weigh a bit more than the handles, so maybe 2 pounds net each side?
My main motive here was the fact that new motors cost as much as a manual winder and I figured they would not last forever. How is that for a bogus rationale? It worked for me.

Question: The brain wiring I see goes to the driver side rear engine compartment; where does the wiring loom from the right passenger rear side go (I assume the immobilzer and fuse box ?).
Thanks
Thanks

The right side is basically stock. I have no immobilizer.

Yes, entire airbag system removed including controller. Lower part of dash is going to be from rom European car. A 6 point harness will be only passenger belting system.
