Let me know if you are considering this as I have connections and can get you a deal on a duck.

That's funny, I have had a couple of people ask me if it was a widebody
Alright, count me in Darin. Hook me up with your connection. PM me if you like

Your car looks INCREDIBLE...even my wife commented!

Man, I hate reading this board! It screws with my head too much. Now I have to think about a duck, which I think is awesome.

Unless it's "Peiking Duck".... I'd pass.

If you are in the fence... Let money stop you.

Money better spent on other mods that enhance the drive.

I like the Retro look. The original RS tail is nice but the Ducktail doesn't hinder the Wide hips especially on a Wide-body car. Porsche must of like the look otherwise they won't of copied us.on the 997 Sport Classic

This thread has me seriously thinking. I didn't know it was a one hour job to change the deck lid. Does that include changing the hydrologic struts that support the lid, or just using a stick (I guess you could call it RS) lid support?
thanks,

Hey Scott, was wondering if you'd chime in.

Couple ways to go on supports. The stock pressurized struts are way too strong and will distort the deck in time. A Rennlist member was nice enough to send me his old worn out struts and they are perfect, just enough pressure left to hold up the deck. Talk to Darin F, I believe he made a custom "RS" style support for his.

I have the same shocks that held up the RS lid. Way too strong for the ducktail; when I open the lid now I reach one hand back to "catch" it. Maybe I'll get a nerf ball and see if it will throw it over the car....

How do you change the lids out? Is it as easy as those few screws?

yes it is. there are also washers/spacers to align the lid, but it's pretty simple. the ducktail is easier than the rs tail or the stock tail just because it is so much lighter.

BTW, the nerf ball only made it part way up the rear window

that is very sweet. it looks like the louvers are integrated in the deck and force air into the motor. anyone now where I can source this deck?

thanks
