Pics of the twins: Turquoise Blue and Black....one VIN number apart
When I started my search for a 993, I originally wanted to find and buy back my Dad's original 95 coupe. However, after some research and help on this forum, I found it overseas (you can find it in the thread where a shop in Europe is turning it into a 993 sport classic). So, after realizing I would not be buying back his car, I set out to find a well preserved and original 993 in silver black or blue. I had my heart set on a turquoise blue car in Florida that was owned by a friend of my Dad's, however it didnt work out and I ended up purchasing my black one from a PCA member in Arkansas. Little did I know, a family friend bought the turquoise blue car after finding out I didnt want it. When we got the two together, my Dad noticed they were built during the same month in 1996...October. Several weeks later, Joe (also on this forum) was over in the 993 and wanted to see how far apart our VINs were. We took a look at my car: ended in 36. Walked over to Joe's car: ended in 37!
So, after months of searching all over the place, we both randomly end up purchasing two cars that were rolled off the assembly line at literally the same time. Their VINs are one number apart. I wonder what the odds of that were
Here are the two cars together for a few pics:
