rear window rust repair
I have the dreaded rear window rust on my 993.
I just dropped it off at a local well respected shop to pull the glass and fix the rust. I am also having most of the rear shot to get rid of some scratches and I am having new clear fender protectors installed as well. I am temped to have the front clip done as well due to some sap stains from the PO then clearbra the front. I have jumped off the slippery slope in pursuit of a cosmetically perfect 993.
I had this problem on my first 993 but it was still under the factory rust warranty. No such luck this time.

It's surprisingly common. I see the start of it on one of our 993 which has been in only Florida and California. The other 993 which has been in the SF bay area and garaged its entire life (second owner); not a speck of rust.

I use Jeff's body shop in Annapolis. 410-268-6765
They did this fix on my father's 993 a couple of years ago and did a great job.
Full glass out repair and the car looks like it has never been painted.
When I had my first 993 repaired ten years ago under warranty I just dropped it off at the dealer, got a loaner car for a week and the car was fixed. (that was tischer porsche in silver spring) I do not know who they use but it was a very good job.
Since I am having the back painted I am considering having the front done as well dut to sap stains. I am waiting for the call about how much more that will cost me.

Dropped car off last Monday for rust repair, It has not been touched yet!
Body shop did not have power yesterday or today due to hurricane Irine. It looks like it will not be parked in the Porsche Corral for the Baltimore Grand Prix this weekend.
I do miss my 993 right now with the perfect weather following the storm.
